An effort to recall Susan Adams from her position on the Board of Supervisors of Marin County, California began in May 2013. Supporters of the recall circulated petitions in hopes of qualifying the recall question for the ballot. However, supporters did not collect enough signatures, therefore the recall did not go to a vote.[1][2]

The recall effort was led by Allissa Chacko and Carol Joyce Sheerin. Recall supporters alleged Adams failed "to represent her constituents." Adams stated that she was "very proud of [her] record."[1]

Adams first took her seat representing District 1 on the board in 2002.[1]

Recall supporters needed to collect 6,368 signatures from registered voters in Adams' district by September 17, 2013 (120 days after starting collection) to trigger a recall. A recall election was estimated to cost approximately $255,000.[1][3]
