Campaign themes

Eggman's website highlights the following campaign themes:[1]

  • Excerpt: "Our past, present and future have always been Agriculture. We have the richest agriculture land in the world, and I will fight to ensure our tradition. I believe we can expand our local economy by promoting Agro-tourism; the public has a growing interest in food and where it comes from, which presents new opportunities for us."

  • Excerpt: "Stockton and the San Joaquin valley have an opportunity right now to transform our work force for the 21st century. We need education to be available and relevant"

  • Excerpt: "The State government must insure that local government has the resources to keep our community safe. I would oppose efforts to put more state prisoners in our local jails until we actually have the money to put these folks behind bars."

Water and Natural Resources

  • Excerpt: "I have served on the Delta Protection Commission for the past three years. Water is vital to our local economy and I will continue to work at the State level to insure we retain local control over our water and our future."

Health and Wellness

  • Excerpt: "Government needs to provide the means for communities to define themselves in ways that promote health and wellness. Healthy engaged communities where streets are safe and people have access to healthy foods are communities with less crime and the higher potential for meaningful employment."

Legislative scorecards are used to evaluate elected public officials based on voting record. Some scorecards are created by political advocacy groups with a focus on specific issues, while others are developed by newspapers and are broad in scope. Scorecards are meant to be used as a tool for voters to have a quick picture of whether their views align with a particular legislator's record.

Because scorecards can be specific to particular issues or general to a state’s legislative term, for example, each report should be considered on its own merits. Each entity that publishes these reports uses different methodologies and definitions for the terms used.

An overview for scorecards in all 50 states can be found on this page. To contribute to the list of Arizona scorecards, email suggestions to scorecards@ballotpedia.org.
