Tawana Walter-Cadien (b. December 25, 1972, in Beaumont, TX) was a 2014 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Texas.[1]


Walter-Cadien earned a B.S. in nursing from Prairie View A&M University in 1996 and is a registered nurse. She also holds an executive master's degree in Public Administration from Texas Southern University.[2]

Walter-Cadien ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 10th District. Walter-Cadien won the Democratic nomination in the primary on March 4, 2014, with no opposition. She will face incumbent Michael McCaul (R) and Bill Kelsey (L) in the general election on November 4, 2014.
