Terry Alexander (b. January 23, 1955) is a Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 59.

Education

Alexander earned his AD from Durham Business College in 1976. He went on to receive his BA from Francis Marion University in 1991. He then earned his MDiv from Howard University School of Divinity in 1998.

Professional experience

Alexander has worked in the following positions: Managing Partner of Sunrise of the Pee Dee, Career Development Consultant, and Adjunct Professor of Religion at Limestone College. He is currently a Pastor at Wayside Chapel Baptist Church and an Education Consultant.

Political experience

Alexander has served on the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments. He joined the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2007. He has served in that position since, representing the 59th District.

The Palmetto Liberty Political Action Committee, a conservative pro-limited government think tank in South Carolina, releases its Scorecard for South Carolina Representatives and Senators once a year. The Scorecard gives each a legislator a score based on how they voted in the two-year legislative term prior to the election on specific issues which the Palametto Liberty PAC thought were anti-limited government. "Most of the votes shown on the score card are votes that we lost. Now we can identify the Legislators that caused us to lose these votes. These Legislators are the ones who need to be replaced if we are to achieve the vision of having the most free state in the nation."[6]
