Thaddeus Kirkland (b. January 12, 1955) is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 159. He was first elected to the chamber in 1992.

Biography

Kirkland earned his B.A. in Communications from Cheyney University in 1991. He then attended Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His professional experience includes working as a Youth Services Director, as a Sunday school teacher, as a Community Service Coordinator for Crozer Chester Medical Center, as an Associate Pastor for the Community Baptist Church, as a counselor for the Elwine Institute from 1984 to 1988 and as a counselor for the Crozer Chester Medical Center from 1988 to 1992.

The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Thaddeus Kirkland was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Michael Ciach was unopposed in the Republican primary. Kirkland defeated Ciach in the general election.[1][2]
