Theodore E. "Ted" Deutch (b. May 7, 1966) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Deutch was elected by voters from Florida's 19th congressional district.

Deutch is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Florida's 19th District. Deutch is seeking re-election on the Democratic ticket.[1] There are seven other candidates currently running in the August 14, 2012 primary elections.

Based on an analysis of bill sponsorship by GovTrack, Deutch is a "centrist Democratic follower".[2]


Deutch was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Liberty High School in 1984, Ted went on to study at the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Law School. [3]

Deutch is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Florida's 21st District. Deutch is seeking re-election on the Democratic ticket.[6] The signature filing deadline was May 7, 2012, with the primary taking place on August 14, 2012.


On April 13, 2010, Deutch won election to the United States House of Representatives. He defeated Joe Budd (R) and Stan Smilan (I) in the general election.[7]

Deutch and his wife of 19 years, Jill, moved to South Florida in 1997. They live in West Boca Raton with their 14-year old twin daughters, Gabrielle and Serena, and their 11-year old son, Cole.[3]
