Abed is the Democratic candidate who ran for election to the District 71 Seat in 2010. She defeated Mark Eagle, Fred Fry, Justin Heany and Bob Robinson in the August 3 Democratic primary. He was defeated by Deb Shaughnessy (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.
