Thomas McKevitt is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 17 since winning a special election on February 2006.

McKevitt's professional experiences include deputy town attorney for Hempstead; intern for New York State Attorneys General Office and New York State Supreme Court Justice Marvin Segal; and staff to New York State Senator Kemp Hannon and United States Senator Alfonse DAmato.

McKevitt earned a BA from Hofstra University and a JD from Hofstra Law School. He is married to Samantha.[1]

McKevitt ran unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He defeated Thomas Devaney (D) in the general election on November 2.[2] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.

On November 4, 2008 McKevitt won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 17, defeating opponent John Pinto (D).
