A Three Rivers Health Authority Asset Sale Question was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Three Rivers which is in St. Joseph County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,160 (84.55%)Approveda
  • NO 212 (15.45%)[1]

This measure sought to allow the sale of the assets of the Three Rivers Health Authority to the Three Rivers Health System, Inc.[2] The Health authority had attempted to get a tax increase approved by voters in 2009, but the measure was defeated by residents. The president of the authority thought allowing them to become a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation was the best way for them to remain as a viable option. Since this measure was approved, the authority will be able to receive a bond in the amount of $2 million to pay off previous bonds.[3]
