Timothy A. Rave (b. July 24, 1967) is a Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 25. Rave was first elected to the chamber in 2010. On September 8, 2013, Rave began serving as State Senate Majority Leader.[1]

Rave served in the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 25 from 2003 to 2011. Prior to joining the senate, he served as the State Speaker of the House.

Biography

Rave earned an associate's degree from Canby Vocational College in 1987. He went on to receive another associate's degree from Augustana College/McK. Hospital Paramedic Program in 1990.

Rave was a Paramedic Supervisor for Rural/Metro Ambulance in 1991. He is currently Operations Manager. Rave also served as a Precinct Committeeman.

Rave won election in the 2012 election for South Dakota State Senate District 25. Rave ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5 and defeated Dan Ahlers (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
