Tina Smith is a Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota in the 2014 elections. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

Biography

Smith has served as the chief of staff for Gov. Mark Dayton since 2011. She previously served as the chief of staff for Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak. Before entering politics, Smith worked as a marketing professional with General Mills.[1]

She won the Democratic nomination in the open primary election as the running mate of incumbent Mark Dayton, who is seeking a second term in 2014.[2] The current lieutenant governor, Yvonne Prettner Solon, did not file for re-election in 2014.[3]
