Issues

Campaign themes

Lakey's website highlights the following campaign themes:[2]

THE ECOMONY

  • Excerpt: "I support policies that will encourage business development, innovation and expansion. As a small business owner, I understand the importance of a strong stable economy and the need to establish an atmosphere where private business and industry can grow and create good paying jobs for Idahoans."

TAXES

  • Excerpt: "Keeping taxes low allows individuals, families and businesses to invest in their future and support Idaho’s economy. Managing government budgets starts by eliminating government waste, not taxing citizens and businesses to maintain bureaucracy."

FAMILY

  • Excerpt: "I am a husband and father of five and I know that the family is the foundation of a successful society. I am a Pro-life Republican who will protect traditional family values."

LESS GOVERNMENT

  • Excerpt: "Government’s role is to provide an environment where businesses and individuals can thrive. Government over regulation stifles our economy and the limits the opportunities available for people to be successful. I also understand the importance of personal property rights, second amendment rights and other individual freedoms. Idaho’s natural resources are best managed within Idaho not from Washington D.C."
