Hutchinson is currently seeking election to Illinois' 2nd congressional district in the special election to fill Jesse Jackson Jr.'s vacant seat. She was one of five Democratic candidate to file by the first in line deadline. One of the five will be chosen in a lottery to be the top name on the ballot.
