Tom Guild was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House representing the 5th Congressional District of Oklahoma. Guild ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 26, 2012.

Biography

Abandoned by his parents at the age of six, Guild spent time in foster care before being adopted by Dr. Carl Guild and his wife Freda.[1] From 1979 to 2006, Guild taught at the University of Central Oklahoma, earning the status of tenured professor. From 2006 to 2009, he taught law classes at Oklahoma City University.

Guild was defeated by incumbent James Lankford.[2] Guild ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Oklahoma's 5th District. Guild won the nomination on the Democratic ticket. He was the only Democrat looking to challenge incumbent Rep. James Lankford (R). He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 26, 2012.
