Elections
2012
Kirby is running in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 114. Kirby is running against Rodney Upton in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [2]
2012 Special election
Kirby faced Mark Banks (R), Paul Smith (R), and Michael Lynch (Nonpartisan) in the special election on February 7. In Georgia special elections, party affiliation is listed, but all candidates appear on the same ballot. Smith and Kirby were the top two vote-getters and proceeded to a run-off election on March 6, 2012.[3][4][5]
Kirby went on to defeat Smith in the March 6 runoff. Kirby won by a 52%-48% margin.[6][7]
