White earned his Bachelors degree in history and philosophy from Regis University in 1979 and his Juris Doctor from Creighton School of Law in 1983.
White has professional experience as a truck driver, painter, and construction worker. He is currently a partner attorney of White, Wulff, and Jorgensen.
White has been a Nebraska state senator since 2006. He did not seek re-election to the Senate in 2010 in order to run for U.S. Congress.
White is involved with a number of organizations, including 4-H, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Field Club of Omaha Board of Directors, Nebraska Horse Council, and the Saint Cecilia's Cathedral Parish.
