A Town of Silverthorne Marijuana Excise Tax, Ballot Issue 2F ballot question was on the November 5, 2013, election ballot for voters in the town of Silverthorne in Summit County, which is in Colorado. It was approved.

This measure authorized an additional excise tax of 5% on the sale of all marijuana products in the town.[1]

Text of measure

Shall the town of Silverthorne taxes be increased by $100,000 in Calendar year 2014 and by whatever additional amounts are raised annually in each subsequent year, by the imposition of an excise tax on the sale of marijuana and marijuana products as such are authorized by state law, (with the exception of medical marijuana and products related thereto), commencing January 1, 2014 at the rate of five percent (5%) of the price paid by the purchaser, which tax revenues shall be expended for but not be limited to:

  • Mental health support services in the town, and
  • DUI Enforcement within the town[1][2]
