Partisan breakdown
Heading into the November 6 election, the Republican Party holds six of the nine Congressional seats from Missouri. However, the state lost one seat after the 2010 census and will elect eight representatives.

August 7, 2012 primary results
Note: Candidates Harold Whitfield and Glenn Koenen were separated by a small percentage of votes, with the race too close to call.[4] On August 9, 2012 Whitfield announced that he would request a recount, as the race was separated by less than 1 percent of the votes.[5] On September 13, 2012 the recount was completed and Koenen was declared the winner.[6] |
