The Utah attorney general special election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Sean D. Reyes (R) was appointed in December 2013 by Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert. Reyes is eligible to run for election to fill the remainder of the term. The winner of the election will serve for two years and will be next up for election in November 2016.

Utah is one of 21 states with a mixed primary system. Parties decide who may vote. Registered Democrats and unaffiliated voters may vote in the Democratic primary. Only registered Republicans can vote in the Republican primary.[1]
