Voting absentee

Eligibility

All voters are eligible to vote absentee in Utah. There are no special eligibility requirements for voting absentee.[1]

Deadlines

To vote absentee, an absentee ballot application must be received by the county election officer no later than the Thursday before Election Day.[2] A returned absentee ballot must be postmarked by the day before the election.[3]

Voting early

Utah is one of 33 states that have early voting with no specific requirements as to who can vote early. Early voting begins 14 days before an election and ends the Friday prior to Election Day.[4][5] The average number of days prior to an election that voters can cast an early ballot is 21 days in states with a definitive starting date.
