Valentine Rausch (b. April 5, 1960) is a former Republican Speaker of the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 4.

Rausch earned his B.S. from Northern State University in 1982.

Rausch worked for Rausch Brothers Monument Company as Vice President/Sales Manager from 1983 to 2000. He has been the owner/operator of Omega Lettering Incorporated since 2000.

Rausch served as Mayor of the City of Big Stone from 1993 to 1999. He was also a member of the County Planning and Zoning Board from 1997 to 1999. In 2000, he was a candidate for the South Dakota State House of Representatives but was not elected. He then did join the South Dakota House in 2005. He has served in that position since, representing the 4th District. During his time serving the House, he has served as Speaker Pro Tempore. Rausch and his wife, Paula, have four children.

Rausch is not running for re-election to the State House in 2012.

Instead, Rausch ran in the 2012 election for South Dakota State Senate District 4. He was defeated by incumbent Tim Begalka in the Republican primary on June 5. District 4 Rep. Steve Street ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

Valentine Rausch ran for re-election to one of two seats in District 4 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Also running were fellow incumbent Steve Street (D) and James Gilkerson (R).[3] Valentine Rausch (R) and Steve Street (D) won election in the November 2 general election.[4]
