Vanessa L. Gibson is former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 77 from 2009 to 2013. Gibson resigned to represent the 16th Council District of Bronx County.[1]

Biography

Gibson earned her B.A. in Sociology from State University of New York at Albany and her M.P.A. in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from Baruch College, City University of New York.[2] His professional experience includes working as a legislative assistant, and serving as district office manager for Assemblywoman Aurelia Greene.

Gibson ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 77. She defeated Anthony Curry in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. She also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. She defeated Tanya Carmichael and Devon Morrison in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
