Vera Ortegon was a Republican candidate for District 3 of the Colorado State Senate. [1] The primary election was on August 10, 2010, and the general election was on November 2.

About

Ortegon graduated with a degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University. Ortegon worked as a lab manager or the University of Southern Colorado Biochemistry Research Lab from 1980 to 1984 and as research lab manager at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Biotechnology Center.[1]

Ortegon defeated Alexander Lucero-Mugatu in the August 10 primary. She was defeated by Angela Giron (D) in the November 2 general election.
