The Vermont attorney general election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Bill Sorrell (D) was first appointed in 1997 and is eligible to run for re-election.

Vermont is one of 14 states that uses an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.[1][2][3]
