Vernon R. Laning is a Republican member of the North Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 8. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.


Laning earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University. He has previously served as a City Council and Mayor of Stanton, North Dakota. Laning served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974.
