Diamond is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 86. Diamond is running unopposed in the Conservative primary on September 13, 2012. Incumbent Nelson L. Castro -- who is also running on the Working Families Party ticket -- is running against Richard Soto in the Democratic primary. Ana Sanchez ran unopposed in the Republican primary.
