Following the results of the 2010 Census, Virginia was redistricted in order to more evenly distribute representation among the population. The newly redrawn 7th district is even more conservative than it was prior to redistricting.
On November 2, 2010, Randy Forbes won re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, defeating Wynne V. E. LeGrow (D) and a write-in.
