Registration

Oregon uses a closed primary system, meaning voters must register with a party to be able to vote in their primary election.

To vote in Oregon, you must meet the following requirements:

Voting on election day

Vote by mail. If you do not provide valid identification during registration, you will not be eligible to vote for Federal races. You will, however, still be eligible to vote for state and local contests.[1]

Oregon is an elections by mail state, however a voter can still vote on election day at their local municipal clerks office 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Pacific Time.[2]

Absentee voting

Oregon exclusively uses a vote by mail system. As such, there is no need for explicit absentee or early voting procedures.[3]

There is no early voting in Oregon.
