Walt Leger, III is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 91. He was first elected to the chamber in 2007. He currently serves as Speaker of the House Pro Tempore.


Leger earned his B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University and his J.D. from Tulane University of Law School. His professional experience includes working as an attorney.

On October 22, 2011, Leger won re-election to District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the October 22 primary election, assuring his re-election.
