Question on the ballot:

Shall City Charter be amended to provide Mayor be elected by voters beginning 2014?[1][2]

Summary:

Amends Charter. Current Charter requires the Commission at its first meeting of each calendar year to elect from its membership a chairman, who is mayor for a one-year term. If approved, this amendment revises Charter so that the mayor is elected at large by the voters of the City of Warrenton. The first election of the mayor will take place at the General Election in 2014. The Mayor will take office January 1, 2015, and will serve a four-year term.
