Death with Dignity is a Washington proposed initiative that will legalize assisted suicide. Only terminally ill, mentally competent adults can use the law, and their condition must be validated by two physicians.
In 1991, Initiative 119, a similar measure failed. The current initiative will mimic legislation passed in Oregon and be held to a stricter standard.
Political consultant Christian Sinderman and Seattle-based Democratic consultant, Blair Butterworth, are working on the campaign.
