Two statewide ballot measure were on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Washington.

Legislative referrals

Some members of the state legislature floated the idea of putting a tax increase authorization on the November ballot in order to close the state's budget gap, but this did not happen.

Citizen initiatives

The wording for sixteen potential ballot initiatives for the November 2009 ballot was filed in Washington but signatures were only turned in for one of them by the filing deadline of July 3, 2009. Two referenda were attempted; one of them submitted signatures by the deadline of July 25.
