I-1037 was an Initiative to the People sponsored by Nathan Olson.
The official ballot title for I-1037 said, "Initiative Measure No. 1037 concerns commercial use of military service members’ names, portraits or pictures. This measure would prohibit the use of the name, portrait, or picture of a current or former service member for certain commercial purposes without consent, and provide remedies for violation of this prohibition."

According to the description prepared by the Washington Secretary of State:
- "This measure would prohibit any person from using the name, portrait, or picture of a current or former service member, including deceased service members, for certain commercial purposes without consent of the service member or certain family members or other representatives of the service member. The measure would not prohibit use in certain literary or artistic works. A court may grant monetary relief for violating this prohibition, or issue an injunction to prevent unauthorized use."
