Amendments

The Washington Investment of Permanent School Fund Amendment, also known as Senate Joint Resolution 22, Part 2, was on the November 8, 1966 ballot in Washington as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure permitted the permanent school fund to be invested in such manner as determined by the legislature.[1] The measure amended Section 5 of Article XVI of the Washington Constitution.[2]

Shall Article XVI, section 5, (Amendment 1) of the state constitution, restricting investment of the state's permanent school fund to national, state, county, municipal or school district bonds, be amended by removing this restriction and thereby permitting the permanent school fund to be invested in such manner as may be authorized by act of the legislature?
