Coleman is running in the special election for Virginia State Senate District 25. The seat is vacant following Ralph Northam's (D) election as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia on November 19, 2013. Coleman was nominated at a convention on November 21, 2013, and will face Lynwood Lewis (D) in the general election, which takes place on January 7, 2014.[2][1]
