Wayne Johnson (b. May 2, 1942) is a Republican member of the Wyoming State Senate. He has represented District 6 since 2005. He was elected to the senate in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008 and 2012. Before his election to the senate, Johnson served as a representative for the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1993 to 2004. He has also worked as a precinct committeeman for the Laramie County Republican Party since 1992.

Johnson served as Petty Officer Third Class in the United States Coast Guard from 1960 to 1964. After his military service he became a consultant for OMEC from 1971 to 1973. He went on to become a Library Administrator for the State of Wyoming from 1973 to 1989. He also worked as State Librarian at this time. Johnson then worked as a planner/grants coordinator for Laramie County from 1989 to 2001.[1]

Johnson earned his BS in History from Utah State University in 1969. He went on to earn a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado in 1970 and a Master in Library Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1973.

Johnson won re-election in the 2012 election for Wyoming State Senate, District 6.[3] Johnson defeated Anthony Bouchard in the August 21st primary election and defeated William R. Hill (Wyoming Country Party) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[4]
