William Batchelder (b. December 19, 1942) is the Republican Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. He has represented District 69 from 1969-1999 and currently since 2007. Batchelder was a representative in the Ohio State House, District 81 from 1969-1998 and Speaker Pro Tempore for the Ohio State House of Representatives from 1995-1998.

Batchelder's professional experience includes judge of the Ninth District Court of Appeals; presiding judge; private first class in the United States Army; judge of Common Pleas Court in Medina County; and AA, lieutenant governor for Ohio State House of Representatives Williams and Batchelder Law Firm.

Batchelder earned a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University and a JD from The Ohio State University College of Law. He and his wife, Alice, have two children.[1]
