William G. Batchelder (b. December 19, 1942) is the Republican Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 69. He was first elected to the chamber in 2006.

Batchelder represented District 81 from 1969 to 1999 and served as Speaker Pro Tempore from 1995 to 1998.

Biography

Batchelder earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and his J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law. He worked for 31 years at the Williams and Batchelder Law Firm. Batchelder also served as a judge on the Ninth District Court of Appeals and the Common Pleas Court in Medina County. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army.
