William B. Magnarelli (b. March 20, 1949) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 129. He was first elected to the chamber in 1998. Magnarelli serves as vice-chair of the minority conference for the New York State Assembly.

He previously represented District 120 in the Assembly from 1999 to 2013. His other political experience includes serving as majority leader with the Syracuse Common Council and common councilor for Syracuse, New York.

Biography

Magnarelli earned his B.A. in History from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Syracuse University Law School.[1] His professional experience includes being a member of Scolaro, Shulman, Cohen, Fetter, and Burnstein Professional Corporation, as an associate with Richard S. Scolaro, Esquire, and as an associate of Axenfeld, Webb, Marshall, Bersani and Scolaro. Magnarelli served as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves from 1972-1979.[2]

Magnarelli ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 129. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
