William McCoy (b. August 14, 1942) is the Democratic Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He represented the 3rd District from 1980 to 2012. McCoy served as Speaker of the House from 2004 to 2012.

McCoy is a farmer. He earned his B.S. from Mississippi State University and attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College. He previously worked as a loan officer for the Farmers Home Administration, Auditor for the Mississippi State Department of Audit, and a Vocational Agriculture Teacher.

McCoy is a member of the Shriners, Farm Bureau, Masons, and Northeast Mississippi Community College Board of Trustees.[1]

On May 25, 2011, McCoy announced he would not seek re-election in 2011.[2]
