William Van Haaften (b. September 22, 1964) was a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing the 76th District from 1974-2010. He also serves as Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore and Chairman of the Posey County Democrat Party.

Van Haaften is an Attorney with Bamberger, Foreman, Oswald and Hahn Limited Liability Partnership, and served as Prosecuting Attorney in Posey County from 1995-2003.

He is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Vernon Kiwanis, National District Attorneys Association, and the Posey County Community Foundation.[1]

Haaften did not run for re-election to the 74th District Seat in 2010. He is instead ran for the 8th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
