The language that appeared on the ballot:

"Shall section 24 of article I of the constitution be created permitting the legislature· by law to authorize the use of public school buildings by civic, religious or charitable organizations during nonschool hours upon payment of reasonable compensation for the use?"

Constitutional changes

	(Article I) Section 24. Nothing in this constitution shall prohibit the legislature from authorizing, by law, the use of public school buildings by civic, religious or charitable organizations during nonschool hours upon payment by the organization to the school district of reasonable compensation for such use.</i>
