The Wisconsin School Debt Limit Amendment was a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment on the April 5, 1955 ballot in Wisconsin, where it was approved.
- This amendment modified Article XI, Section 3 of the Wisconsin Constitution to state that debt limits for school bonds are based on equalized property value.[1]

Text of measure
The language that appeared on the ballot:
"Shall section 3 of article XI of the constitution be amended so that the limitation on the indebtedness of school districts and cities authorized to issue bonds for school purposes shall be based on the value of the taxable property in such school district or city as equalized for state purposes rather than on the local assessed value of such property, such method of determining equalized value for state purposes to be provided by the legislature?"[2]
