The Wisconsin Water Power and Forest Funding Amendment was a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment on the November 8, 1910 ballot in Wisconsin, where it was approved but later overturned by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

This amendment sought to modify Article VIII, Section 10 of the Wisconsin Constitution to provide funding for preservation and development of state water power and the forests.[1]

Text of measure

The language that appeared on the ballot:

"For the amendment providing for the appropriation of moneys for the purpose of acquiring, preserving and developing the water power and forests of the state."[2]

Constitutional changes

Proposed amendment to Section 10 of Article VIII of constitution, relating to internal improvements.
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, that Section 10 of Article VIII of the constitution be amended by adding at the end of said section the following:
"Providing that the state may appropriate moneys for the purpose of acquiring, preserving and developing the water power and the forests of the state; but there shall not be appropriated under the authority of this section in any one year an amount to exceed two-tenths of one mill of the taxable property of the state as determined by the last preceding state assessment."[2]
