Middleton, Wis. - October 4, 2020: A generous donor has offered to match $50,000 in donations given to Ballotpedia in October of 2020.
Ballotpedia supplies America’s voters with the information about the issues and candidates on their ballots and provides updates on the quickly changing deadlines and requirements for voting that vary by state.
To ensure that Ballotpedia, a nonprofit organization, has the resources to gather and share all of this information, Ballotpedia asks for donations from readers and the voter education community to support their work.
The public demand for Ballotpedia's information is already reaching record levels. One in four voters visited the site for information before voting in 2018. Based on increased early traffic to the site, one in three voters is expected to visit in 2020.
If Ballotpedia is able to raise $50,000 in donations, a donor will match those gifts, meaning Ballotpedia would be provided with $100,000 in support this October.
"I’m proud to say that through it all—and thanks to your generosity—Ballotpedia has remained true to its mission and purpose—providing unbiased information on politics and policy to all Americans… free of charge," said Leslie Graves, founder and CEO of Ballotpedia.
"Your support has made it possible. And as we enter the last days of this most unusual, most challenging election year, I hope I can count on your support once again."
