4 Appeals Court nominee names forwarded to Governor for selection

LINCOLN, Nebraska: Four nominees for the Nebraska Court of Appeals have been sent to Governor Dave Heineman for a final selection. The Judicial Nominating Commission selected the four nominees out of seven who applied for the position.[1]
The 2nd Judicial District vacancy occurred due to the death of Judge Theodore Carlson. Carlson passed away on April 16 after a battle with cancer.[2][3]
The nominees include: Judge Patrick McDermott, of Schuyler; Robert O'Connor, of Valley; Michael Pirtle, of Omaha; and Judge Gary Randall, of Omaha.[1]
The governor will interview the four before making his selection.[1]
