Ward previously ran for the circuit court seat in 2010.[1]

Education
Ward graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 1987 and went on to receive her B.A. from Bellarmine University in 1991. She earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1994.[2]

Primary: She was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 48.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Paul J. Mullins, Stephanie L. Morgan-White, Bryan Daniel Gatewood.
General: She defeated Stephanie L. Morgan-White in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 67.4 percent of the vote.

Ward was defeated in her bid for election to the 30th Judicial Circuit. She was defeated by incumbent Erica Lee Williams on November 2, 2010.[1]
Regarding her qualifications for the bench, Ward stated, "When elected, I will draw on my experience handling thousands of the most serious and complicated cases in our courts, and dealing with some of the most dangerous offenders, to make wise and just decisions from the bench. I will bring to the bench a strong work ethic, excellent management skills, integrity, knowledge of the law and rules of court, and an even-keeled temperament."[7]
