A. Kirke Bartley, Jr. was a justice of the New York County Supreme Court in the 1st Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to this position in 2007. He has also served as a judge for the New York City Criminal Court of New York County since his appointment in April of 1997.[1]

Education

Bartley received his A.A. degree from the State University of New York at Farmingdale in 1968, his B.A. degree from John Jay College in 1974, and his J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law in 1977.[1]

Career

Bartley began his career in 1978 as an associate of the Law Office of Ward J. Ledogar. He then joined the Queens County District Attorney's Office in 1980, where he served as an Assistant District Attorney until 1997 and the Chief of the Trial Bureau from 1991 to 1997. He was appointed to the Criminal Court in 1997 and became an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 2007.[1]
