A. Lynn Payne
A. Lynn Payne was a judge for the Uintah County District Court in Uintah County, Utah.[1] Judge Payne first became a district court judge in January 1992.[2] Payne retired from the court effective July 1, 2010.[3]
Education
Payne received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1975. He served as a Salt Lake City Prosecutor from 1975 to 1978 and as a Salt Lake County Prosecutor from 1978 to 1981. He then worked in private practice in Vernal from 1982 to 1987. Payne was appointed to the Eighth Circuit Court by Governor Bangerter in 1987. He then became a district court judge in January of 1992. He has served in that position since and has been Presiding Judge.[2]
