Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

A proud graduate of Penn State, Aaron Adams earned his degree in Engineering and currently works as a Mechanical Design Engineer. His journey in public service began in 2022 at the age of 23, when he earned the trust of his community by winning a seat on Duquesne’s City Council, becoming the youngest person ever elected to Duquesne City Government. In this role, he has been a tireless advocate for his neighbors, always putting the needs of working people first. Aaron is committed to listening to the people he serves and will work hard to ensure that every community — big or small — has equal access to representation and resources.

• Putting Working People First Aaron believes in prioritizing the needs and issues of workers. He will advocate for the workers in this region and ensure they get a fair deal. Aaron is committed to supporting economic growth throughout the Mon Valley.
• Government Availability & Transparency Aaron believes your government should work for you, which is why he is committed to making local government more responsive and transparent, ensuring that every community in the 9th district receives the support and resources it deserves.
• Revitalizing the Mon Valley Aaron takes great pride in his roots in the Mon Valley. One of his top priorities is to ensure this region will continue to be a place where future generations can thrive. He is dedicated to supporting small businesses, local schools, our first responders, and new infrastructure.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Aaron is passionate about the balance between public safety, economic development, and infrastructure, because they’re deeply connected. Aaron will support safer communities and schools by investing in community policing, mental health resources, and school safety programs. To boost economic development, he'll champion policies that attract new businesses and create good jobs, making our district a place where families want to live and invest. Also, Aaron will prioritize upgrading our community owned infrastructure like water, roads, and small business to ensure they are reliable and built for growth.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity

It is important to be transparent, remain ethical, and putting the public interest ahead of personal or political gain. Trust is the foundation of good leadership.

Whether it’s listening to constituents, clearly explaining policies, or rallying support for community initiatives.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Some core responsibilities for the position on Allegheny County Council would include, budgetary oversight to ensure fiscal responsibility, supporting public services and community engagement to represent the district fairly and equally.

Taxpayers deserve to know exactly how their money is being spent, and elected officials must be held to the highest standards of honesty, efficiency, and ethical behavior. The public deserves to be able to have the information not only presented to them but should understand the information as well. The more that is known to all the better, as all citizens have the right to comment on these financial decisions.
